Sandro Chia Exhibition of Recent Works at CIAC
The Italian Centre for Contemporary Art will open a solo exhibition of Italian artist Sandro Chia on Friday, October 14, 2016. This is the inaugural exhibition dedicated to Chia’s recent works.
Curated by Italo Tomassoni, the exhibition brings together about 50 new paintings, mostly made specifically for the beautiful spaces of the CIAC.
Next to eleven large paintings made between 1998 and 2003, provided by the Mazzoli Gallery in Modena, there will also be a group of ten amazing new paintings portraying figures of great ebullience against backgrounds of poetic landscapes.
The Vernissage of the exhibition will be honored by the presence of Emily Braun, curator of the New York Guggenheim Museum, on October 15 that will give a talk “Sandro Chia and Transavanguardia” in the former Church of the Annunciation.
