Folkert De Jong Has Show at Valkhof Museum, NL

Marc Straus Gallery artist Folkert De Jong curated a new show at the Valkhof Museum as part of their continuing Cool Collection series. In this series the museum invites artists, designers and curators to dive into their collection and present it in an alternative way. Reflecting on their shared history – and future – is the starting point. This allows visitors to look at historical objects from a different perspective.

For ‘Cool Collection II’ Folkert worked closely with museum curators Melchior Jaspers and Renee Schuiten-Kniepstra. Folkert selected objects from the collection that had a specific appeal to him which included many objects from Roman times. He has created a sensory experience which includes historical art, 3D holograms, video projections and contemporary work by Folkert, some of which was specifically made for this exhibition.
